Monday students participated in a museum activity called Blooming Butterflies. The students enjoyed The Very Hungry Caterpillar and a bean bag activity, caterpillar yoga, caterpillar art and a butterfly symmetry matching activity. We connected these activities with the butterflies in our classroom. We will be releasing our butterflies into the butterfly tent and then into the wild soon.

On Tuesday the Hap Barnes Fire Safety Trailer visited our school. Firefighter AJ taught us about how to be safe in our homes and Fire Inspector Mike taught us about how to get out of a house when it is on fire. We learned about STOP, DROP and ROLL. We would like to encourage all families to make a fire escape plan with their children, check smoke detectors in their home and practice what to do if there's a fire.

We are studying World of Water this month and are looking for families to share pictures and stories from the beach, aquarium, and ocean.
