Butterflies Hatching

We've been busy with Spring time activities these past two weeks. We planted our vegetables in the garden and are taking careful care of them each day making sure they have enough water and sunlight. We planted tomatoes, eggplant and peppers in our garden box on the playground.

We are also excited to announce that our caterpillar-turned-chrysalises are finally hatching into butterflies! Today we had two bitterflies emerge from their cocoons and begin drying their wings. We've given them plenty of sugar water and oranges for food. We were so lucky to be able to watch one butterfly fully emerge from his cocoon.

This month we will be studying the world of water! The students have shown interests in the water cycle and where rain comes from. Our family project to look at and draw what you see in the clouds is due tomorrow!
